Organic Consumer Information

Dairy:

THIS High Meadow Farm, located in Jefferson County, Wisconsin, is NOT a dairy farm. We are a small family, organic vegetable, and pastured sheep and chicken farm.
Since Aurora Corporation has labeled their creamers, etc, as High Meadow, we have been inundated with inquiries regarding High Meadow brand of ultra-pasteurized dairy creamer, milk, etc. I believe this brand is carried by Costco, and possibly other outlets.

High Meadow brand DAIRY products are a division of Horizon/Aurora Corporation.

Support Organic Farmers!

Here in Wisconsin, we greatly appreciate the support of our community, and we also like to support our local organic dairy farmers as much as we can. These farmers are our friends and our neighbors, and their livelihood depends on our support!
Organic Valley, and Westby Organics are the most accessible local organic dairy products that we are able to find in our local supermarkets. (There are other local dairies that may sell to smaller outlets than mainstream grocery stores.) Both of these dairies receive high cow (star) ratings from the Cornucopia Institute as far as meeting organic standards.  Both of these are cooperative dairies that purchase milk from local organic family farms that ensure excellent quality of life for their animals, their families, and the health of organic consumers.
Horizon Organic Corporation (exceptionally low rating, one cow) products have been seen more and more often in our local stores lately. I feel that this has a detrimental affect on our local farmer’s livelihood. I also find this a good opportunity to mention to these stores that they are not supporting the organic dairy farms in their area by purchasing from this national corporation.
Please remember that by supporting local business, and local farms, you are building a stronger local economy, and a stronger community!
