2012 CSA Season Although we are not a huge CSA, the amount of vegetables that we grow would be impossible for our 3 family members to maintain. We depend heavily on our worker shares that work 4-5 hours each week in exchange for their vegetable share. Our past workers have been an amazing work force and have made sure that all of our harvest and delivery days have run smoothly and that we have delivered the freshest vegetables that we possibly could. With smiles on their faces (every time I looked at least) they have worked in rain, heat, cold and mud. They have learned and proved that a worker share is not for the weak or the faint of heart!
There may be a few alternative work-share options including: helping with deliveries and possibly roatational grazing assistance.
If you are interested in committing to a work-share, let us know and we will send you an application.
Other work opportunities that we are considering this year are:
General farm help- we are looking for someone with diverse abilities to help part-time with general farm labor for a few hours (approx. 4-6) per week. This could include brush clearing and fence construction, assistance with poultry housing construction, general maintainance and repair.
We would also welcome assistance with processing of poultry. This occurs about 4-8 days times over the season and could be a part of but not required of the position above. Some experience is preferred, but not required.
Please call or email for further information about these positions.
